Intro to Photography for Kids

  • Creative COOP 119 W Broadway Granville, Ohio 43023 United States (map)

Explore, get creative, notice the little things, and learn some amazing techniques to photograph your favorite things + capture some awesome memories!

In this project-based workshop, students will learn photography basics and be encouraged to explore + interact with their world using their camera as a tool to communicate their thoughts, ideas and feelings. This hands-on course is perfect for students age 10 and up.

We will explore photography basics such as composition, lighting and exposure. Students will have time for self-reflection + journaling, as well as class discussions + sharing. The second half of the course will focus on pulling all concepts together to create beautiful images to communicate our unique visions + ideas. Students will explore storytelling + documentary photography as they begin to apply their skills and knowledge.
Each student needs to have a camera. Although DSLR cameras are desirable, point + shoot camera with a manual mode will work, too.

This course is limited to 12 student learners.
